Your score in the assessment is calculated based on the answers you provide. Each answer helps to evaluate if your child would benefit from an orthodontic exam.
Orthodontic treatment is usually not painful, though mild to moderate soreness is normal during the first few days. You may feel mild pressure or soreness for a day or two after adjustments or when starting a new set of aligners, but this is normal and goes away quickly. Most patients describe it as temporary discomfort rather than pain.
Most children can start full orthodontic treatment between the ages of 10 and 14, when most permanent teeth have come in. However, we recommend an initial orthodontic screening around age 7 (early Phase I treatment) so we can catch early issues and guide proper growth if needed.
After completing the assessment, you can access your results by clicking on the 'View Results' button. This will display your score, the results, and any feedback or explanations provided for each question. A copy will be emailed to you as well.
Treatment length varies from patient to patient, but most orthodontic treatments take 12 to 24 months. After your consultation, our orthodontist in Katy, TX, will give you a personalized timeline based on your specific needs.
